KARORI AND ONSLOW PROPOSALS CARRIED. -
Although there is one more return to come from Newtown Library in connection with the polls on the Karori and Onslow water and drainage loan proposals, it cannot affect the result, which is overwhelmingly in favour of the scheme in each case. The polls, both upon these issues and the Kelburn tram issue, were remarkable for the number of informal votes cast, large numbers of ratepayers marking a cross against the issues they favoured instead of erasing the other line. In. the recount of the votes cast; however, wherever the intention of the voter is clear the vo£e will be taken as valid.'
