PROGRESSIVE "TICKET* RETURNED
A feature of the polling day at Lower Hutt was the return to the Borough Council of the Progressive "ticket." N. t 385 Forsyth, J 326 Jones, J. W 277 Brattle, F. J 203 Bell, T. de C 190 Hazelwood, R. 177 Andrews, W 173 •Retiring councillors. The Mayor, Mr. W. T. Strand, who was re-elected unopposed, expressed his sincere thanks to the electors, who, even at the late hour of 11.15 p.m., still thronged the street. Each of the candidates, successful and otherwise, also returned thanks for the support given. With the exceptions of Councillors Hobbfs, M'Bain, Mitchell, and Meldrum, all the members of the council are new to murrfeipal life. The poll at the Hutt yesterday waa considerably larger than usual.
