"THE PARISH PRIEST."

The first presentation of "The Parish Priest," the final piece to be staged by Mr. Allen Doone and his company, will be given at the Opera House this evening. The story of the play centres about Helen Durkin and Dr. Edward Walsh, two young lovers whose numerous differences are usually settled by the peacemaking influence of Father Whelan, a lovable old priest, played by Mr. Doone. During the performance, Mr. Doone will sing some of his favourite numbers, which have also become the favourites of Wellington theatre-goers. Miss Edna Keeley will be seen in the role of Helen Durkin, a sweet Irish girl,l a character requiring some powerful emotional acting. The cast is completed by the members of Mr. Doone's talented company. The box ,plan for "The Parish Priest" ■is at the Bristol. ■
