NOXIOUS WEEDS

The Agricultural- Inspector (Mr. Webb) is endeavouring to assißt local bodies to clear their lands of noxious weeds, especially ragwort, which is getting a somewhat alarming hold on properties in the Lower Hutt district. Six offenders against the local borough bylaw were proceeded against at the Lower Hutt Court yesterday before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., and Mr. C. B. Robinson, J.P. Four were each fined 10s and costs 7s, and the other two 20s and costs 7s.
