CHUISTCHURCH, This Day. Referring to ..the Wellington protest against the abandonment of the OtagoWellington match, Mr. J. S. Barrett, chairman of the Cricket Council, states that the resolution abandoning the Otago-Wellington match was arrived at with the Ml knowledge of Otago and Wellington representatives, and after submission to the Canterbury Association. The council's decision was in the interests of the game as the Dunedin weather and the necessity for playing the Canterbury match might have. extended Wellington into the third week.
