The Plunket Shield match was resumed in sunny weather. The wicket is wearing well. Henderson and Brice took up the bowling, and the Blunt-Patrick partnership was dissolved early, Patrick being well taken in the slips by Collins off Brice, with seven runs added. 318 —5— 75 Patrick had batted 164 minutes, with only one chance, and the partnership added 160.
Aklersley received a knock on the leg. and Ronaldson took his place in the* field. Sandman opened briskly, and a powerful drive off Henderson "was well fielded by Hiddleston. He was bowled by Henderson for 8. 339—6—8. Blunfc did not score for 20 minutes, and was caught by Kiddleston before he got goings. 351—7—116. The score at noon was 7 for 361.
Blunt had batted 270 minule.s, hitting thirteen 4's. By noon Canterbury had lost three for 46 on the day's play but Gregory (46) and Powell (22) were unbeaten at luncheon, when the score was seven for 420. Details are:— WELLINGTON.
