It is stated that many late fee letters are being posted bearing a late fee of ljid instead of 2d. This is presumably in consequence of the belief that the late fee postage is at the rate of double the ordinary postage. This is not correct. The recent reduction in rates does not affect the late fee, which remains at 2d.
