CAPETOWN, 10th January.

In the match against the Free State fifteen, M.C.C. fn their first innings made 325 runs, Russell 110. Rosenzweig took four wickets for* 58. Free State in their second innings made 120, Bourke 52. Gilligan took five wickets for nineteen. M.C.C. won by an innings and 35 runs. Heavy rain overnight rendered the wicket easier. The Free State bowling was weak. The visitqrs' score was mad© off 87 overs. Russell's total included ten fours. He gave a chance at the century.
