SANDERS CUP.
MEETING OF WELLINGTON ASSO
CIATIQNS.
The executive of the Wellington Yacht and Motor-Boat Association met, last evening, the chairman-(Mr. W Duncan) presiding. The business consisted largely of matters arising out of the sending of the local Sanders's Cup challenger to Auckland at the end of the month. The Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association telegraphed that there would be five competitors for the cup—Kona (Auckland), Eyniii (Wellington), Linnet (Canterbury), Winifred (Otago), and Murihiku (Southland). ■ ■ It was reported that a sum of £89 19s was now in hand towards the expenses ,of sending Eynin and her crew to Auckland, and that it was hoped to supplement that amount by small contributions, which -would raise the total to about £100. . !■ The crew of the boat Eynin will leave .Wellington on 24th January, and the boat will probably leave two days earlier. Some discussion took place on the race for the 14ft Inter-club Cup, presented for competition between local clubs by the Royal Port Nicholson and the Here-, taluiga Yacht Clubs, and held under the supervision of the asso'qiatiou. The Heretauuga CJub asked .the association to postpone the race until. Eynin returns from Auckland, so as to enable her to compete. It was pointed out that this would necessitate an alteration of the rules, which prescribe that the race must take place on the first Saturday in February or on the first available Saturday thereafter. ■ The request was therefore declined.. The present holder of the cup is Copee, owned by Mr. A. Johnston, of the Evans Bay Club.
