MELBOURNE, 13th October. At the hides sales there were largo offerings, and competition was brisk. All good-conditioned advanced' from par to one farthing. Other Hues are firm.

Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. are in receipt of a cable from Messrs. Sanderson, Murray, and Elder Ltd., dated 12th October, reading as follows: —"Sheepskins sales, good competition. Merino sheepskins, fine crossbred sheepskins advanced 10 per oent.; medium and coarse crossbred sheepskins advanced 5 per cent." ■ \
