There is some uneasiness in the South Island on the subject of the export of hams to Australia. The "Lytteltoii Times" believes that "unless some strict control is kept on the export of'hanis to Australia, New Zealand may be faced with a alwt'tage of lianis for" Chi-lstnuis, and in that case prices will advance.'-'
