FRUIT EXPORT

DIFFICULTY OF BRANDS

REGISTERED NUMBERS FOR

CONSIGNEES.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPIRIQHI.)

(AUSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

(Received 13th October, 9 a.m.)

LONDON, 11th October

A deputation representing fruit interests waited on Sir James Allen, complaining of the multiplicity of brands on cases, and urging that each consignee should have a registered number,' which would be stamped on the case prior to shipment, thus facilitating the delivery of the cases from the ship. Sir James Allen gave a sympathetic reply. Similar trouble was long-stand-ing in the Australian trade. Mr. Ashbolt had taken over the matter, and had now produced a workable scheme on economic lines.
