NEARING THE END.

The time when members of Parliament will have to face the electors was brought apprecialy nearer yesterday. when the Prime Minister proposed, and the House agreed, thaj, Monday night sittings shall start next week. Mr. Massey further suggested that to save time the House might take the debate on the Public Works Statement, expected in about a fortnight,. in conjunction with the second reading of the. Aid to Public Works and Land Settlement Bill.

An idea of the legislation yet to be considered was given -by Mr. Massey. Ho explained that he. did not wish to convey the impression thai tlio Bills on the list he would read would all bo passed this session, but it would give members some idea of' what was left. His list was:—Crimes Amendment, Greymouth Native Leases, Companies Consolidation, Dairying Industry Amendment, Stamp Duties, Legislatures Amendment, referring to the political rights of Civil servants, Main Highways, Tongariro National Park, sotting up a Board of Control, Harbours Amendment, Cook Islands Amendment, necessary to check the entry of undesirable immigrants, Scaffolding Amendment, St. John'B Colleijo Trust, Baptist Union Incorporation, Mines jAiii§ndrasn.t, gating A^eudment,

the usual Washin^-op Bills, Public Ser" vice Superannuation Amendment;, Pi-' nance and Appropriation Bills. The Companies Consolidation, he added, would merely be circulated this Session.
