SALES OF WORK
ST. MARK'S PARISH.
A plentiful supply of all those things which go to make a successful sale of work was in evidence at St. Mark's Schoolroom yesterday afternoon, when the annual sale of work was opened by Dr. A. K. Newman. The various stalls were well stocked, and the large attendance during the afternoon and evening provided ready purchasers. In the evening the proceedings were enlivened with a conceit programme. The stalls were open again this afternoon, and another programme will be submitted this evening The stallholders were :—Sewing bee, Mesdames Askew, J. W. Ward, A. P. Williamson, T. Harrower, Ullmer, Lerwill, and Miss J. Ward; Sunday school, Sister Constance, Misses Morrell, and Gleeson, and Mrs. Mullins; flowers, Misses Charlton and Evatt; St. Martha's Guild, Mesdames H. Moore, Watkins, senr., E. Y. Redward, and Misses Blackie, Christie, and Bates; produce, Mesdames J. Searle and W. Small; G.P.S., Mesdames W. A. Chote and A. T. Mitchell; sweets, ; Misses Wright, B. Holm, and Q. Lamb; cakes, Mrs. and Miss Lewis, Mrs. J. H. Bindley, and Miss Hall; afternoon tea, Mrs. P. G. Morgan, Mrs. G. P. Middleton, and Misses M. Watson and A. Goldfinch.
ST. ANDREWS BUILDING FUND,
A successful sale of work was conducted by the St. Andrew's Women's Guild in St. Andrew's Schoolroom yesterday afternoon and evening, in aid of the Chui-ch Building Fund. The fair was opened by, Lady Luke, who wished the parishioners best of success. In v the evening a musical programme was contributed by : Misses Harbol, Pennington, and Bradshaw. The stallholders were as follow :—Fancy work, Mrs Hood, Mrs. Nalder, Miss Archibald, Miss'M'lntyre; plain work/Mrs. White, Mrs. Gibson Smith, Mrs. Dawnard, Mrs. Sievwright, Mrs. Dinnie; produce,' Mrs. Shearer, Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Hayhes; mission stall, Mrs. Niven, Mrs. Anketell; cake, Mrs. Brown, Dunsheath, Morrison; sweets, Miss M'Eldowney, Mrs. M'Arthur, Misses Nalder, Porter, JardJne, and M'Andrew; flowers, Misses J. .Shearer, Cox, Butt, Thomson, Standideje; tea rooms, Mesdames J. Hislop, Thomson, Rennie, Hamilton, East, Misses M. and N. Thomson, Bolt, Ogilvie, Leatham, Wilson; bran tub, Misses D. and M. Morrison. \
BROOKLYN.
A successful sale of work' in 'aid of the building fund was opened in the Hutson Hall, Brooklyn, yesterday afternoon, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. G. Mitchell, M.P., performed the opening ceremony. The stalls were well filled, and, with the large number of people present, did good business. The stallholders were : Tea rooms, Miss Johnson and Mrs. Reid; fancy work, Mesdames Macintosh and Marshall ; produce,' Mesdames M'Lean and Thwaites; cakes, Misses Hendriksen arid Cook; sweets, Misses Hodson and Reid ; toys, Bible class girls; fish pond, Bible class boys; miscroscopical exhibition, Mr. Wait. During the everting an enjoyable entertainment was gjven, the performers being : Miss Maisie Instone, Dorothy Koberfcs, and Leah Roberts, and Messrs. MnrsbaH and Hindle. The sale of work is being continued this afternoon and evening.
