NEW YORK, 24th September. Six army officers were killed when, during night aerial sham battle manoeuvres, a big Martin bomber aeroplane crashed to eaTth and burst into flames before 25,000 spectators. The scene was illuminated- by powerful searchlights. Spectators rushed to the machine, but were unable to approach closely owing to the raging fire, which quickly consumed the aeroplane.
