"KEEP TO THE LEFT"

NEW TRAFFIC SIGNPOSTS.

An innovation in regard to traffic control has been instituted in certain streets of the city. Signposts bearing the injunction "Keep to the left" were placed to-day in the middle of Featherston street/outside the Post Office, and at the corner of Lambton quay and Panama street. The posts were placed, in position at the instigation of the city traffic department, and it is stated that they had a good effect in keeping .traffic to the left hand side of the thoroughfares mentioned. To-morrow it. is proposed to place posts bearing red dices in certain streets, indicating that, motorcars may be parked there.
