IMELDA FAMA.

A pianoforte recital will be given by Miss Imelda Fama in the Concert Chamber next Tuesday evening, 18th July, when a programme of interest and variety will be presented. ■ Miss Fama is : courageously including Schumann's master-work, "The Carnival," and Liszt's "Campanella," last played here by Levitzki. Chopin will be represented by the favourite A-flat Ballade, F-sharp Nocturne, and B-flat minor. Scherzo and modern writers will be drawn on for a fascinating group of smaller pieces. One of ,these, "Debussy's Jardins sous la Pluie," is an impression of summer rain falling in a Parisian garden. Beneath the continuous light-hearted movement is an undercurrent of sadness. The box plan is open at the Bristol. Tickets may also be obtained at Begg"s and Pinney's, and from Horace Hunt, 151j Lambtonquay. _^_^_
