The Labour Department at Washington has announced that 1,228,000 men are striking against wage reductions as ifollow :— joai miners __-__-_. 728,000 Textile workers ..__..... 80,000 Railway workers -._-_. 400,000 Smaller strikes., 20,000 The Labour Department believes that 3f these strikes continue for any length of time, secondary workers in industries dependent upon tne'major industries will be thrown out of worit.
