The barometer is unsteady, and has been rising in the south, while falling in the north: Scattered rainfall has been reported in the northern districts, and the ;weather elsewhere lias been fair, though ''dull and niisty at times in most parts ,of the country.' There were three do•grecs' of frost (a- temperature of 29 de'igrees1.. cm tho grass) in Wellington last night; but the weather has not been so cold as-it-was-last week.
