■"' The Wellington team to play Taranaki was finally completed yesterday, after numerous chfnges made by the seleotor* ori account.of players being unable to make the trip; and the members left for Hawera. this morning, accompanied byMessrs. J. Lundon (manager) and A. Wilson (selector). The team was as follows;— Full-back, E. CJiristopherson (Poneke) : three-quarters, Malfj-oy ('Varsity), S. Wogan (Selwyn), J. fuiinington (Poneke); five-eighths, ]B. Algar (Poneke),, M. Nieholls (Petone); half-back, H. E. Nieholls (Petone); wing forward, Smith ('Varsity); forwards, • Wylie (Petone), ■_. Standen (Berhampore), j. Troy (Marist), J. Moffitt (Oriental), J. Shearer (Poneke), Duncan (Athletic), M'Rae \ ('Varsity). Emergencies: Back, Tancred (Marist). forward, Whiterod (Berhampore). The Taranaki team is as follows:— Full-back, Robertson (Hawera); threequarters, Hickey (Clifton), R. Roberts (Okaiawa.), A. The match ir to be. played at Hawera-to-morrow, and the. Wellington team will return on: Thursday.
The Wellington members of the North Island_ team and' the South Island representatives returned-from1 Auckland by the Main Trunk express yesterday afternoon. -.Those players -whe were injured during the game have practically recovered, although. Bellis (who is to captain the New ' Zealand team) was limping when he left the .train at Taihape. J. ;Steel (West Coast) has been appointed vice-captain'of the New Zealand team. -; '"•' •
The Southern players left by the ferry steamer last night. -
