COUNCIL OF ACTION SET UP,
ORGANISATION AGAINST WAR.

The Trades Union Congress has conclude*}. It elected a Council of Action, representative of the various States, Which will function as practically the controlling body of the. Austrian industrial movement. ■ The Congress adopted a resolution expressive p£ its fear of possible future wars, and condemnatory of wars as opposed to Labour's interests, and urgently calling upon workers . immediately tp organise, to prevent war by linking up in oi'der to oppose the designs, method?, and .machinations of capitalistic Governments. ■ As the first step, the Council of Action was instructed to call a panrPacific conference of workers' organisations in Australia next year, aimultaneously with the pan-Pacific Science Congress. It was. also resolved to hold a demonstration against war during the week of the anniversary of war. i
