A combined run of member* of harriers clube' iyas held from Island Bay on Saturday, the field 'ooneuting. of some 130 runners

A number, of incidents of the run wers filmed. This film 'will be screened shortly at one of the leading picture theatiea at a benefit performance for the purpose of raising funds to a««ißt in financing the Wellington team to the New Zealand oroes-country championships at Dunedin. Commencing with a group of all present, the start of the run from Cliff House was photographedl, followed by a scene entering Happy Valley. Then camo the asoent ■of a eteep, clay bank, followed by a descent down a similar bank and across a stream. The next incident filmed was a water jump from a bank about eig'.t feet liigh across a wide stae&m. The majority of the runners, however, failed to clear this obstacle, and addled t<J the interest of the picture by landing in tho middle of the, stream. After this tha harriers left Happy Valley, and returned over the hills to Island Bay. They pisjsentod a • fine sight as they scaled the precipitous hillside, became silhouetted against the skyline momentarily, and disappeared over the crest. The fini;li of the run-in wa» also recorded, this event resulting in a win for O. Campbell (Olympic), with W. Scatohard (Olympic) and M. Griffin (Olympic) in' the places. The next to finish wer e N. Smillie (Brooklyn) and R. Wataon (Wellington).

At the close of'the main event, the Brooklyn Club held a club run-in of about 800 yards'. The winner was G. Gillott, with Gillies second, and Bruce third. J. M'Kinlay, from scratch was fourth. The club members and their friends were the guests of Mr. and Mm. Shorland at afternoon tea, and Mr. Shorland presented F. Harlem with a four-years' attendance medal.
