BOXING
Followers of boxing are boing exceptionally veil catered for during- the next ten days. On Monday and Tuesday nights the amateur championships are being staged, and as record entries have been received, a large number of contests irmst be staged each ovehing in order to reach finality in the two evenings. The time of starting is announced as 7.30, mid except for the heavyweight tho rounds will be of two minutes' duration ou the Srst evening. On Monday, 26th instant,, arrangements have been completed for a series of contests between the men of H.M,S. Chatham and local exponents. There are reported to be some excellent exponents on the ship. The proceeds are to be divided between the Ships' Sports' Fund and tho Returned Soldiers' Club Fund. Mr. Alan Maxwell is to referee on Monday and Tuesday nights, while Mr. B. A. Guise will probably hold that position on the Naval ni<?bt.
