"SALTED"
THE BEAUDESERT BORE.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) (Received June 3, 11 a.m.)
BRISBANE, This Day. The Government Analyst has reported to the Minister of Mines that a sample of the liquid from the Beaudesert bore had the same composition as a mixture of kerosene with a little lubricating oil. The Minister said that if a practical joke had been played, it had not been on the .part of the owner. If kerosene had been poured down the bore, the owner was the victim of the joke.
[A Brisbane telegram a few days ago stated that a bore at Bea/udesert was pumped dry in the presence of the Act-ing-Premier, Mr. Jones. Then the water which was making in the well was placed in a bottle and an inch of petroleum rose to the top, giving a strong smell of kerosene. It was regarded as an excellent sample.] . y
