LONDON, 2nd June. ' Mr. H. N. Barwell, Premier of South Australia, has been created Knight Commander of St. Michael and St. George. Companionships of the Order are conferred on Mi. Edward Harkness and Mr. Charles Oakes, of New South Wales, and Mr. Hitchcock, ' Mayor of Geelong.
The following are created Knights Commanders of the Order of the British Empire: Mr. Thomashyle, Victoria; Mr. Mark Sheldon, Australian Tirade Commissioner to the United States; Mr. George Tallis, .Melbourne';, of the firm of J. 0. Williamson and J. and N. Tait; and Professor MacPherson, Professor of Psychiatry at Sydney University.
