WHAT'S IN A NAME?
What's in a name? Much depends upon circumstances. :. Wachtfels, the name now borne by a French steamer, and shortly to be changed to Antinous, probably conveys no real significance to the average citizens (says the Melbourne Age), but let theword Wolf be uttered, and instantly the exploit* of the exGerman raider' will be recalled. The Wolf, or the Antinous, as she will shortly be known,' made one^voyage to Melbourne since the war. This was last year, when she cams as a tramp and shipped a cargo of wheat to Germany At no distant date, however, she.will become a regular visitor, but she will fly the flag of the Messageries Maritimes fleet and will bo one of seven or. eight passenger and cargo steamers which1 that company proposes to place in the FrancoAustralia New Caledonia itinerary. If sufficient inducement should offer this company contemplates adding to the list ;of Australian extensions by providing a regular monthly service to the Common-' wealth. .
