SYDNEY, 29th May. Before the Full Court argument was commenced on the question of the legality of the Board of Trade declaring a basic wage more frequently than Qnce annually. The matter arose out of "an application to reduce bread-carters' wages. '.\,.,.
[The Industrial Court declined to grant an application "of the- .master bakers for a reduction .in bread carters' wages in consequence of the recent Board of Trade declaration on the basic wage. and referred the. ,matter to 'the Full Court for argument on /a point submitted by the union's representative that. the board could only make one declaration yearly, and that therefore tho last declaration was ultra vires, and could not be enforced.] . '
