Peter Singleton, Thomas Mein, and John Robert Scott Culbertson, who had previous convictions . for drunkenness against them, were each fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours in gaol. Michael Martin, who appeared to answer to his fourth effence of drunkenness, was sent to the Inebriates' Home for twelve months. :
David Thompson admitted the theft of a travelling rug, valued at £3, from the steamer Tahiti on Saturday. He was fined £5, in default a month in gaol. A woman named Eleanor M'Walker, who had a previous conviction against her and had been previously admitted to probation, pleaded guilty to three charges of theft. The articles were taken from rooms at the Bellevne Hotel. The Magistrate sentenced M'Walker to 18 months' reformative detention.
