BOXING
ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING.
The Wellington Boxing Association's seventeenth annual meeting was held' in j the Chamber of Commerce rooms last I evening, Mr. R. W. M'Villy (president) presiding oves an attendance of about twenty members. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, details of which have appeared in The Post, the president said that the association had had a most successful season, both from a boxing and financial point of view. Members would be' pleased to know that the-association intended, during the coming season, to foster the sport amongst the schools. Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., who seconded the motion, expressed the view that New Zealand had nothing to learn from America in regard to the conduct of the sport. He had seen a good deal of boxing in America. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—Patron,- Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P. (re-elected); president, Mr. R. W.'M'Villy (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs. J. H. Oweii, J. L. j Day, H. Nelson, E. Blundell, L. George, C. E. Bridge, I. Duncan, and Dr. H. J. Ml* Lean; committee, Messrs. J. E. Staples, G. Howe, E. A. Dawson, H. Hull, A. W. Press, W. W. Cook, P. W. Woods, D. R. Hoggard; and Lieutenant- j Colonel R. St. J. Beere; hbn. treasurer, ib B. A. Guise (re-elected); hon. secretary, Mr. W. G. Talbot (re-elected); hon. auditor, Mr. R. J. Aekins (re-elect-j ed); hon. solicitor, Mr. W. Perry (reelected); hon. representative, Mr. W. | Lawless (re-elected). I Appreciation of the executive's interest in small clubs was contained in a letter from the Eastbourne Athletic Sports Club.
