LODGE MEETINGS

The Recliabite Chambers, Ghuzneestreet, proved much too small to accommodate the number of templars and their friends who assembled to witness the institution of a new juvenile temple on Saturday last. The temple, which] is to be known as " Anzac Junior, No. 4," is under the jurisdiction of Anzac Lodge, No. 25. The ceremony was performed by the G.S.J.W., Bro. W. J. Trevithick. Fifteen juveniles and eight honorary members were first initiated. The election and installation of officers followed. Bro. W. Ingram, D.M.D., and Bro. F. Kempton, S.J.W., assisted the G.S.J.W. as installing marshals. The superintendents of all the Wellington district temples were present, and. offered their congratulations and best wishes for a successful future. The Grand Lodge of New Zealand wast represented by the G.V.T., Sis. Betts; G.Sec., Bro. George Petherick, Wellington District Lodge. No. 5; D.D.G.C.T., Sis. Betts; P.D.C.T., Bro. Warren; D.S.J.W., Bro. •E. Montgomery; D.V.T., Bro^ Hirst; D.M.D., ' Bro. Ingram; D.E.S., Sis. Hirst; D. Mar.,' Bro. Betts. The new temple is placed under the management of Sis. A. E. Carpinter and a strong committee. Sis. G. Symington is to be the assistant superintendent. The remarks of the various officers' present were very highly appreciated, and judging by the enthusiasm displayed this temple should make.' rapid progress. Great credit is due to the superintendent, Sis, Carpinter, for her very energetic labours in securing the qudta sufficient to apply for a charter. Votes of thanks; were pjssed, arid the -meeting closed with the usual ceremony; ■ ■- -; The fortnightly meeting of Pioneer Lodge, Nd. 1, was held in St. Thomas's Schoolroom on Tuesday evening. P.D.P. Bro. Mullins, superintendent, 'assisted by A.D. Bro. Lamb, conducted the business. Five new members were initiated, and five more were proposed. It 1 was'decided to enrol adult members as honorary members of the juvenile lodge. Bro. Laughton was elected and installed as minute secretary. A quoit competition was held and- resulted: Bro. Laughton, 1; Bro. Lamb, 2. -■ The arrangements for a bobs tournament were left in the hands of the committee for next meeting. Court Sir George Grey, 3118, A.0.F., held its quarterly meeting at the Dominion Farmers Institute this week. There was a large attendance of members. C.R. Bro. W. G., Lightfoqt presided. The Woodwards reported the sick were improving. P.C.R. Bro. R. h. Wellington and Bro. P. E. Key were presented with P.C.R. jewels, for services rendered, by the C.R. The court has under consideration the celebration of the diamond jubilee of the Court, which will take.place next June.
