LODGE MEETING
The Sons and Daughters of Temperance held the usual meeting oil' Wednesday, tho 15th inst., in the Methodist Mission Hall, Webb-street, presided over, by Bro. W. Gampn, W.P.: There was/a good attendance vOf officers and members, and the night'being quarter night a fair amount of business was dealt 'with. One new member'was initiated, and' two prospective members were proposed!/; ,':' ■
A meeting of the Peton'e', branch of the Labour Party was held.'last evening. Mr. Irpngbottom, president' of the branch, occupied the chair, and 'addresses were given by Mr. Moses Ayrton, -who spoke on f the constitution and platform of the ■ party,.and Mr. D. Pritchard, who iriade an .appeal for the consolidation of the party in •view of the fbrtcjcjining election, which ho 'prophesied' would be both a strenuous/and bitter one.
Messrs. E. Johnston anof Co, will coll building material at No. 302, Taranakictreet, on Tuesday, it 10.30 a.m.
