Mr. William Jennings Bryan -issued a statement to-day which is considered by some political leaders as an attempt to assume the leadership of.the Democratic Party. Mr. Bryan declared his confidence that the Democrats would win a majority in the House of Representatives if they would attack the Republicans' weak economic policies as exemplified in the defects in the revenue laws. Mr. Bryan advised Democratic Senators to accept the Arms Conference treaties, because they were .actually the creation of the Democratic Party.
