"WAY DOWN EAST."
The extension of the season of "Way Down East" is accounting for as much interest in the notable picture as that shown last week. "Way Down East" is one of D. W. Griffith's greatest works, and in the course of a gripping story some impressive scenes are depicted, notable among them being an ice-bound rite. Lillian Gish, as a simple country girl, a lmsbandless mother, and finally a happy bride, plays the principal part. Officers and men of H.M.S. Chatham were present last night, and another party from the warship will witness tonight's performance.;
