'CHRISTCHURCH CLUB DEFEATS WELLINGTON CLUB.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The annual match between the Wellington and Christchurch Clubs for the "Fiiendly Bowl" was played on the Christchurch green yesterday. The match has been in vogue since 1909, in which year it was inaugurated by Mr. W. Barnett on the local green, subsequently alternating between Christchurch and Wellington. Of the Christchurch players to-day, H. Helliwell and George Smith have played in each of the games, while S. Manning and W. Barnett have only missed one or two. The match to-day was rather one-sided, the Christ-church players being the victors in each game. As showing the strength of the play the total scores were as follows: At 7 heads, Wellington 21, Christchurch 38; at 14 heads, 48 to 67; at 21 heads, 60 to 90; at 25 heads, 77 to 122. At the close of the match the players assembled at the pavilion wEen the Christchurch president (Mr. W. S. Newburgh) presented the "Friendly Bowl" to Mr. G. Magnus on behaJf of the Wellington Club, who responded. Following are the scores :—Wellington : J. B. Brinsden, F. Marshall, A. .Wylie, H. G. Smith (s) 11; Christchurch, Dr. Orchard, W. Barnett, C.
