ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

ANNUAL MEETING OF THISTLE CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Thistle Football Club was held at the V.M.C.A; last evening, there being a large attendance of members;.

The annual report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed the club to be in a healthy financial condition. From a playing point of view Thistle was very successful during the past season, winning both the senior and jui.ior six-aside competitions and the Senior Charity Cup. The seniors were also runners-up in the championship. The forthcoming season promised to be even more successful, practically all of last year's players having signed on already, besides about half a dozen new ones.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. R. Dwyer; vicepresidents, Messrs. V. Bannister. N. Battersby, J. Berry man, H. W. Brown, F. Brownlee, E. Clunies Ross, J. Curriu, W. L- Rosenberg, F. Sutherland, A.' Stevens, E. D. Taylor, P. Webber, C. Webster, D. Weddorburn, W. Wilson, W. S. Johnston, W. Bevaridge, Captain M'Arthur, O. Johnston, D. Lock, C. Trott, senior, J. Sin.mins, End -W. Egerton; hpo-retary-treasurer,/'Mr. Hector Smith (P.O. Box 10/1); management committee, Messrs. P. Duncan, J. Ferguson, R. Jardine, S. Jardinu. J. M'Ardle, J. M'Lellan, and J. It was decided that if . tho ■ Wanganui Association were wiling, a team from Thi3tle should visit them at Easter to play two matches. < A proposal was carried to hold a euchre party each week during tho season; also that, two senior teams should be entered for the six-aside competition.

After some discussion, it was decided that only a senior team would bn entered for the championship this season.
