LONDON, 7th February. The Daily Mail's Paris correspondent states that, rendered savage by the intense cold, a pack of wolves raided by daylight the village of Petronani, in Rumania, and killed eighteen of the villagers before they were driven off with hatches and pitchforks. The countryside is panic-stricken, 'and the authorities are issuing rifles.
