THE SOONER THE BETTER
MR'. THOMAS ON NEXT ELECTION
LONDON, 6th February
Mr. J. H. Thomas, Labour M.P., speaking at Derby, said it was generally acknowledged that this would be the last sessior of the present Parliament. The sooner the General Election came the better. Ther'speeches of Mr. Churchill and Lord Birkenhead indicated that there was a, kind of poison gas being prepared by the scientist in Downingstreet. The duty of members of the Labour Party was to prepare their gas masks. The speeches of Lord Birkenhead and Mi. Churchill were a direct appeal to class war. He could conceive nothing more dangerous t when one. out of five of the adult population were denied the right to work. "Labour may make mistakes, but God hek> us if it' cannot make a better job than the Liberals and Tories, singly or combined."
