PREMIER'S STATEMENT
POLICY TOWARDS FRANCE AND -GERMANY.

LONDON, 7th February. Mr. Lloyd George, sneaking1 in _ the House of Commons, said the. British policy was to make France feel that she was not isolated, and to make Germany feel that a policy of revenge would bring in all the lands against her. He hoped to place the Egyptian. question before the House after a -conference with Lord Allenby. - (Received February 8, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 7th February. Lord Curzon, speaking in the House of Lords, said the Government was pre-. pared to give France the assurance approved by Parliament in 1919; but it would be a great mistake to extend it iiito an offensive'and defensive alliance. He anticipated that the results of the Osnoa Conference would be as farreaching as those of the Washington Conference. Lord Heading, he said, was sending a survey of the situation in India, which would be submitted to Parliament.
