EGYPTIAN TROUBLES

ZAGHLUL PASHA'S POLITICAL CAREER. (rtSHTIR'3 ISMORAU.) (Received December 23, 2 p.m.) CAIRO, 22nd December. The situation is developing favourably to Zaghlul Pasha, with a, correspondingweakening of moderate influences, owing to the failure of the Anglo-Egyptian negotiations. The Sultan has not' yet accepted the resignation of the Premier, Adly Pasha, who persists in declaring that he will rjarticipate in the Government. The political deadlock therefore continues. < Addressing the students at the Soidies Secondary School, who were striking, Zaghlul Pasha advocated non-co-opera-tion on the lines of the Gandhi tactics.

A later message states- that the military have forbid den the Nationalist leader Zagh'lul Pasha to participate in any way in politics, and has ordered him and eight prominent supporters to return to their villages. The order was disobeyed, and they will leave under military escort early on Friday. Excited crowds have gathered in the vioinity of Zaghlul's house. Elsewhere two demonstrators were killed and six wounded by gunshots in collisions with the police.
