The Progressive Council and Party conferred till a late hour, and decided to refer matters in dispute to the Parliamentary Party, whaich is now evenly divided, with seven in each section.
Mr. Perdriau has resigned from the Progressive Party, and stated that he will form the "nucleus of a genuine Country Party, uncontrolled by city men ac is the Progressive Party. It is understood that Mr. Levy will remain Sneaker until the National Party other-_ wise directs.
