CATHOLIC PICNIC AND SPORTS
The Catholic picnic and sports organised by the Wellington Catholic Education Board will be held on Boxing Day at Seatoun Park. An> attractive sports programme has been arranged, including an inter-parish tug-of-war, which should prove most interesting, and for which entries close at the Catholic Federation Offices, 4, Willis-street, on 22nd inst., at 5 p.m. Island Bay Parish are the present holders of the cup, which is now on view at the Marble Bar, Man-ners-street. In addition to the cup, the winning team will receive £10, and the runners-up £5. Special prizes have been donated for the baby show. A hardworking committee of ladies will manage the tea kiosk, and the Marist Brother's old boys will run the side-shows. The dancing programme should attract a large number of entries, and the medals for these events are, also on view at the Marble Bar, Manners-street. If the weather is unfavourable on Boxing Day the picnic and sports will be held on the next day (Tuesday, 27th inst.).
