ATHLETIC PARK IMPROVEMENTS.
Various matte™ requiring consideration by the Wellington Rugby. Union were dealt with at a committee meeting this week, momberis preqent being: —Messrs. W. J. Hardham (acting, chairman), H. M'Leod, J. N, Millard, G. F. Jackson. H. C.-Buok, F. A. Laws, and F. J. M'Co'misky (secretary). The use' of Athletio Park for the purpose of holding evening sports meetings between 6 and 7 o'clock was granted to the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The committee had no objection to the making of a charge for admission, but regretted that on account of being committed to the Trade* Cricket League it oould not grant permission for ,the use of the ground on Saturday afternoons. A request from the Waterside Worker* Band for permission to us© the Park on Sunday afternoons for practice was granted, subject to the custodian intimating that the ground was in a fit condition when required. . , ' . The Moretary was instructed to obtain quotations for representative cap*. A grant of £1Q was made to the Schools' Union. The question of providing school representative oaps was held over. . Various matters in connection wtih the improvements to Athletic Park were diecussed, and it wa« decided to hold a special meeting shortly to further consider the question of improving the stand. The N.Z.R.U. is to be requested to remove the temporary stands to enable the ground to be put in order. The purchase of another home was left to the Grounds Committee. . . ' The City Counoil notified that it could not make any reduction of the charge for the grounds' at Miramar Park, which had been in a. bad state during the s°aThe Trades Crioket League was granted a fifth wicket at the Park at a. charge of i£l per week. _^^
