Mr. J. H. Qunson, Mayor of Auck r land, is on a visit to Wellington. ■ Mr. M. J. Mack, general secretary of the Amalgamated Society' of Railway Servants, is at present visiting the South Island on Railway Appeal Board business. ■ Mr. George Wiltshire, of Kanieri Forke, a Crimean war veteran and a pioneer of the West Coast, died yesterday at the age of 97 years (reports a Hokitika Press Association message). Councillor W. H. Bennett, who, with Mrs. Bennett, has i been on a three months' trip to Australia, returned to Wellington by the Ulimaroa yesterday afternoon. i ' Mr. L. O. H. Tripp, chairman of the Wellington War Relief Association Executive, who has been on a tour of England and France, returned by the Ulimaroa from Sydney yesterday. Mr. W. R Willook, a well-known resident of Gisborne, died atGisborne yesterday (reports a I^resa Association message). He was attending a Christmas fair, when he fell d*>wn and expired. Deceased' went to Gisborne from Leeston in 18.93 as accountant in the Bank of New "Zealand, and- retired eight years ago. Mr. Willock was- a son of the late Archdeacon WiHock, and was sixty-eight years, of age. _
