The monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court wbb 'held yesterday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.

On the application of the police, a prohibition order was issued against the same defendant.' A Payne, a youth, charged with damaging a railway carriage, was ordered to make good the damage ss, <and pay the costs 19s. For allowing stock to wander on the public streets, F. D. Ell was fined 10s and 7e costs, and F. Meyrick and F. Twomey, each 20s and 7s costs. Judgment for plaintiff, by default was given in the following undefended civil cases:—Thos. Waugh v. Nattrass and Harris .£52 4s, with £2 costs; same v. A. J. Jackoon £7 2s lid and 18s costs; J R. Scott v. R. Reid £9 3s, and 15s'costs. In a judgment summons case Ben Mndgway, Jun., was ordered to pay John Babington the sum of 28s in weekly instalments of 53 per week or suffer three daya imprisonment. . ■
