FAMOUS SINGER'S TOUR.

At the conclusion of the tour he will give twenty concerts in America. The proceeds'will be for the Russian famine fund. He describes London as Heaven after seven years in Russia. Chaliapin is on leave from, the Soviet until December, and his wife and family are held in Russia as hostages for his .safe return. Ho told an interviewer1 that the Russian famine conditions are worse than people In England can imagine. He would not discuss "Bolshevism. It is recalled that he sang with Caruso in Milan in 19D0. Lauri Kennedy, 'cellist, of Sydney, supports Chaliapin. It is a great distinction, as Challapin is regarded as the World's greatest singer.
