WORKERS' JOINT DEMANDS

LOSSES THROUGH RECENT

FIGHTING,

, (EHIIIB FUBIS ASSOCIATION. —COPlnidHT.) (REDTJR'a ItLEBSAM.) BERLIN, 30th September. Polish and German workmen, waiving their differences, united in "a joint demand for compensation for loss of work incured through the German-Polish fighting last May. They threatened a general strike unless the Inter-Allied Commission or the employers surrendered. Demonstrations were held at Oppeln, Kattowitz, and Beuthen, in which a quarter of a million workers of both' races took part in processions. The Allied Commissioners were sympathetic, but declared that they had no funds. The employers said that they suffered such losses through the insurrection that it was impossible to grant the demand.
