For the purpose of meeting various sections of the union and arousing greater interest in union matters, Mr. W. J. Poison, president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and Capfain F. B. Colbeck, vice-president, contemplate a tour of the South j Island, beginning in the middle of September and lasting about a fortnight. It i 3 suggested that meetings of farmers be held for the purpose of hearing addresses by the two officials, and, if possible^ of ■ enrolling new members. The importance of the work ahead of the i union, and) the need for discussing such questions as the linking up of the co-operative movements.under the union's auspices, particularly in regard to the preparation, shipping, financing, and marketing of the country's produce, are among the matters on which it is considered thcro should bo greater unity. '
