MADRID, 25th August.
A battle lasting twelve hours was fought on the .whole Melilla front between 12,000 Spaniards and over 5000 rebels, who fought desperately. Airmen bombed the spots where they had concentrated, inflicting heavy losses. About 200 Spanish soldiers were killed.
