No bids had been received, however. The offer he made to the Valuer-General was that £2750 should be accepted", the seller being willing to accept Goveru.rnent 10-yeav debentures at 6 per cent. That offer would remain open for seven days. In regard to a second property owned by _Lady Edwards in Cuba-street, the capital value was reduced from £1050 to £1018, the unimproved value havingbeen brought down from £840 to £768, owing to the values not having allowed for 23ft taken oft at the back. The valuations were sustained. Mr. Wntson appeared for Leonard Tripp, objecting to the valuation (unimproved) of £1895, placed on a leasehold section in Molesworth-street. It was stated; by Mr. Watson that the area of the section was 23.9 perches, and the valuation placed upon it equalled £14,000 per acre, as compared with the City Valuer's estimate of £6000 for a church acre in Hobson-street. The Oity Valuer (Mr. Ames) said, ho valued the land at £16 per -foot. s Tho valuation was reduced by £100.
