ERNEST DRAKE RECITAL.
The return to New Zealand of Mr; Ernest Drake, the popular tenor, has caused considerable interest in musical circles, and the recital he is giving in the Town Hall this evening is eagerly looked forward to. Mr. Drake's success in England was rapid' and almost phenomenal. Within three months of his arrival in London he was singing on tl»3 concert platforms there with some of the world's great artists. "One of the firaest lyric tenors in the British Empire," was the opinion of one critic oi eminent standing. Besides many; gems from the operas, Mr. Drake will sing such popular numbers as "Macushla," "All in a Lily White Gown," "Sigh No More), Ladies," etc. He is being ably supported' by Miss Ola.rioe Wood (soprano), Miss Dorothy Baker (violinist);-and'Miss Molly Dixon (soprano).
